Conserve Water at Ashhurst
The Council will lower the existing water main that is the major feed line between the bore and the reservoirs on Colyton Road.
The realignment will allow new stormwater pipes to cross over the water main.
The new pipes will improve the stormwater drainage in the Ashhurst Ward and reduce the incidents of ponding during heavy rain.
While the work takes place over the next few days the City Council is asking residents to conserve water as the main will be out of action.
Council staff have ensured the two reservoirs are topped up to provide sufficient water in the short term however it is important that people are responsible in their use of water from today.
The work is expected to take two or three days.
