Easy Ride For Ashhurst Commuters

It's now easier for Ashhurst residents to get the bus into Palmerston North thanks to Rose Coachlines.

Horizons Transport Planner, Renee Smith, says the bus operator will be resuming pick up and drop offs outside the Plunket rooms on Cambridge Avenue in Ashhurst during UCOL semester time.

Demand during UCOL semesters was discovered during the Plunket pick up trial in October and November last year.

“We found there were several Ashhurst residents who made use of the services, and we are happy to provide this service for them again,” explains Derek Rose, of Rose Coachlines.

Rose’s weekday services pick up from the Plunket Rooms at 8am, to arrive in Palmerston North at 8.15am, with the return service leaving at 3.45pm on Main St outside Icons.

Alternatively, commuters can make use of the Bay Express that also departs from Icons, but at 5.35pm.

This service drops off at the Mobil Station.  Fares on both services are as follows; A one way trip will cost $5 or a ten trip ticket will cost $40.
